Invasive species fight

Invasives species of plants, also called neophytes, are a real threat for animal or plant biodiversity, because they modify the habitat or because they create direct competition. The Foundation La Maison de la Rivière is very aware of this, this is why it search to define a real strategy to fight these species.

This is why the Foundation accepted the mandate of a Perroy owner which is aimed at eliminating the Japanese Knotweed, Renutrica japonica, which was growing abundantly on the Lake side around his property. The pioneery work was firstly consituted of manually tearing off most of the plants, and then to plant instead a new hedge made of several indigenous species of plant highly favorable for birds and insects.
